Meet The Prairie Pines Team

Michelle Hupfer

PGA, MBA-Head Golf Professional

Michelle grew up in Crystal Lake, Illinois, and is a graduate of Northern Illinois University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Operations Management and a Master of Business Administration. She received her PGA “Class A” designation in 2009 and later obtained certifications in Player Development, Golf Operations, and General Management.

With over twenty years of experience in various facets of the golf industry, Michelle brings extensive knowledge in golf operations, player development, and event management. She has a keen eye for analyzing a player’s golf swing to achieve immediate improvement and a proven track record of helping golfers of all skill levels reach their full potential.

Throughout her career, Michelle has created and led programs for golfers ranging from juniors to seniors. She has instructed initiatives such as First Tee, Special Olympics, PGA HOPE, and PGA Junior League. As a PGA Certified Professional, Michelle combines expertise, leadership, and a genuine passion for growing the game of golf across all demographics.

Michelle has worked at both public and private golf facilities and for the PGA of America Education Department, where she instructed and mentored PGA professionals and aspiring golf professionals on managing the golf business and increasing player engagement. This experience has equipped her with the skills to effectively lead and develop teams of golf professionals and staff, whether large or small.

When she is not on the golf course or at the club, Michelle enjoys exercising, playing the clarinet and occasionally the piano, and taking her dog for long walks. Naturally engaging and personable, Michelle looks forward to connecting with the team of professionals, members, and guests at Prairie Pines. She is eager to make an immediate positive impact and contribute to delivering exceptional customer experience.
